JCNA Elects new President
Veteran director takes wheel of international Jaguar Club
DENIS EYNON ,a veteran JCNA director has been elected the new president of Jaguar Clubs of North America Inc.
Eynon won the top elected post at Saturday's Annual General Meeting, in Seattle,Washington.
The new top official identified four main planks on his platform:
- Increasing membership
- Boosting advertising in the JCNA Jaguar Journal
- Encouraging JCNA affiliate clubs to stage multi-club events.
- Establishing a Past President's Committee.
Also contesting the president's office was JCNA general counsel Brock
McPherson, a South Central Regional Director, from Great Bend, Kansas.
McPherson has held many senior roles within JCNA, including
vice-president, and member of such committees as Nominating, Business,
Bylaw and Policy.
McPherson also identified increasing JCNA membership as a major focus for JCNA.
Eynon has recently been a South Central Regional Director, in Scottsdale,Arizona.
Outgoing president Bill Streitenberger served in his last official role
at the head table of the AGM's Saturday evening banquet.
Eynon's presentation to delegates focused on creating a vision to help guide and
propel JCNA to the next level of a high-performing
organization. He specifically intends to reach out to motivate members
and focus on common goals, among other issues.

In the trenches: A thick agenda, motions and Roberts Rules of Order.
The 7-hour AGM core meeting went over by almost an hour.
Several items from the agenda were referred to Saturday evening's banquet.

Gorgeous -- just like the 2007s....

A friendly face greets members and delegates (thank goodness this truly is a "friendly" face).

Not many of these 2-door XJs around.

Wow, is this a weird E-Type or a ?????

This plane saw wide service in the Pacific theatre of war and,
with its folding wings, was often an aircraft-carrier based plane.

Where the AGM is being held, the Embassy Suites, in Seattle, Washington. Weather was warmish, air was
fresh -- and the cherry blossoms are out. Very, very little of
the Pacific Northwest rain....
|
AGM registration: Like just about everything else in our hobby,
the Registration Desk is manned by volunteers, who worked very hard
-- and very long -- to make sure everything happened correctly for arriving delegates and visitors.

Jaguar enthusiast and author
Steve Kennedy is now -- among his other published achievements --
working on an authoritative reference work (right) for Jaguar tool

How far is it from the state of Florida to Seattle, WA? Heck, it's a long, long
way. Betting has it that this well-run Cat belongs to JCNA
webmaster Pascal Gademer. There's got to be a special place in
Jaguar Heaven for dyed-in-the-wool fans like Pascal.

For an E-Type that's just done a cross-continental run, Pascal's Series III is looking pretty
good! What an enthusiast!!!! Is there a JCNA spirit award??

Frank Brockman bought his amazing 1950 XK120 back in 1973. It had then sat for 25 years
outside and it was in significantly less impressive shape than
today. Frank spent a few hours a day restoring his classic cat
and then, when he retired a few years ago, he invested significantly
more time for a year or so. The result is that Frank's breathtaking
XK120 was installed in the hotel's lobby to greet visitors, delegated
and directors at the AGM. Frank was also presented with his
well-deserved 2nd Place North American award. Congratulations, Frank!
One last point . . . Frank's XK, and a new XK beside it (not in photo)
were under 24-hour watch by a security guard in the hotel foyer.

Dick Maury, of Coventry West, presented a technical seminar again
for Jaguar fans. Dick's presentation this year was on carburetors
and fuel injections systems. His two-hour seminar included an
always-helpful question and answer session. "Thanks, y'all..."
